Security Must Be Homegrown and Network-Based, not Imported

The closing ceremony of the Tehran Dialogue Forum took place with the presence of Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Iran's Parliament Speaker, and Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister. Also in attendance were several deputy ministers, director-generals, diplomats from the Foreign Ministry, and guests from the conference.

The Tehran Dialogue Forum was held over two days at the Institute for Political and International Studies of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, with participants and delegations from 53 countries.

At the closing session, Saeed Khatibzadeh, head of Iran's Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS), outlined the forum’s activities, noting that about 50 speeches and panels took place.

He emphasized the forum’s role in bringing together decision-makers, policymakers, experts, and thinkers.

Addressing the forum, Ghalibaf stressed that that true security must be homegrown and network-based, not imported. He also argued that geography, not politics, is the foundation of international affairs, rooted in the interaction between place, people, and time.
